The Hidden Yacht Stops We Love
From Mallorca to the Greek Isles and Beyond Skip the superyacht clichés. These are the stops you’ll remember.

We’ve spent years scouting coastlines, swapping notes with skippers, and following local whispers - all in search of the best kind of sailing stop: the ones that feel a little undiscovered.
This isn’t a list of the most Instagrammed bays or the bougiest marinas. It’s a shortlist of the hidden yacht stops we can’t stop thinking about - where the water is still, the crowds are few, and the memories linger long after you’ve sailed away.
Some of these are part of our Nautica Collective sailing routes, others are still on our wish list — but all are worth veering off course for.
⚓ 1. Porto Colom, East Mallorca, Spain
A sleepy harbour town where the boats outnumber the tourists. Porto Colom is one of Mallorca’s most authentic sailing stops - calm, colourful, and quietly local.
Don’t miss: Sa Llotja - a no-frills fish restaurant right on the waterfront. Fresh catch, white paper tablecloths, and local rosé on tap.
🧭 Sail here on our Mallorca East Coast route.
⚓ 2. Hydra, Saronic Gulf, Greece
No cars. No noise. Just donkeys, artists, and old-world charm. Hydra captures the essence of slow Greek island life - where the soundtrack is clinking glasses and lapping waves.
Local tip: Climb the stone steps past Spilia Beach Bar and dive straight off the rocks. Later, head to Techne for sunset cocktails and modern Greek plates.
🧭 A highlight on our Greece Saronic route.
⚓ 3. The Baths, Virgin Gorda, BVI
One of the Caribbean’s most otherworldly anchorages. Giant granite boulders create natural pools and grottos where sunlight dances on turquoise water.
What to do: Snorkel, explore the caves, or relax on the beach. Stop at Top of the Baths for lunch with an ocean view.
🧭 Join us on our British Virgin Islands route this winter.
⚓ 4. Ponza, Pontine Islands, Italy
Volcanic cliffs, pastel-hued ports, and coves so clear you can see straight to the seabed — Ponza is Italy’s best-kept sailing secret. A favourite weekend escape for Romans, it feels worlds away from the bustle of the mainland.
Where to eat: Acqua Pazza - a Michelin-starred gem serving creative seafood in a cliffside setting, with sunset views across the harbour.
🧭 Featured on our South of Italy & Pontine Islands route.
⚓ 5. Salt Whistle Bay, Mayreau, Grenadines
A narrow crescent of sand with calm bays on both sides - Caribbean perfection.
Local tip: Walk ten minutes inland to Last Bar Before the Jungle. Order the rum punch. Stay for the stories.
🧭 A stop we’re adding to our future Caribbean sails.
⚓ 6. Cala de Deià, West Mallorca, Spain
Nestled beneath the Tramuntana mountains, Cala de Deià feels like a secret you stumble upon.
What to do: Swim in glassy waters, then wander through the village of Deià - one of the island’s most creative enclaves. Book lunch at Balm for sea views and slow living.
🧭 Included on our Mallorca West Coast route.
⚓ 7. Tromsø, Norway
A striking blend of fjords and Arctic serenity. For those who prefer stillness to sunbathing, this is your place.
Local secret: Take a night-time boat trip to see the Northern Lights, then feast on Arctic char and King Crab at Fiskekompaniet.
🧭 Sail here on our Norway Sail & Ski voyage.
⚓ 8. Île Saint-Honorat, Côte d’Azur, France
Across from Cannes, this tiny monastery island is all pines, vineyards, and quiet magic.
Try this: Wine tasting with the monks who live and work here. Sacred stillness meets surprisingly excellent rosé.
🧭 We’re exploring this for a future Côte d’Azur route.
⚓ 9. Spetses, Saronic Gulf, Greece
A hidden jewel of the Greek Isles - pine-covered hills, neoclassical villas, and horse-drawn carriages.
Local tip: Rent a bicycle and follow the coastal road to hidden coves. End the ride with lunch at a seaside taverna overlooking the Aegean.
🧭 Often paired with Hydra on our Saronic sail.
⚓ 10. White Bay, Jost Van Dyke, BVI
Known - but worth it. Anchor early, or stay late, and you’ll find its softer, dreamier side.
Our go-to: The Soggy Dollar Bar - try the original Painkiller cocktail. (They’re strong, so we limit ourselves to two.)
